StreakBit collects zero personal data.

Your habits, streaks, and progress stay entirely on your device. StreakBit has no servers, no user accounts, and no access to your information. Your daily data is yours — completely, permanently.

1. Who we are

StreakBit is developed and maintained by SmartWhale Technologies, an independent software company based in India.

2. What data StreakBit collects

From you directly: Nothing.

StreakBit does not require an account, email address, or any personal information. You open the app and start tracking — that's it.

All data you create in the app — habit names, completion records, streaks, reminder times — is stored locally on your device using an encrypted SQLite database. This data is never transmitted anywhere.

No registration or login at any point
No habit data sent to any server
No usage analytics collected
No behavioural tracking or profiling

3. Third-party services

StreakBit uses two third-party services. Both are provided by Google and operate under their own privacy policies.

📢 Google AdMob Free version only

The free version of StreakBit displays ads from Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device information including your advertising ID, IP address, and general device identifiers to serve ads. SmartWhale Technologies does not receive or store any of this data.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation.

💳 Google Play Billing Premium purchase only

If you unlock StreakBit Premium, the transaction is handled entirely by Google Play. SmartWhale Technologies never receives, processes, or stores your payment information.

4. App permissions explained

Permission	Why it's needed
INTERNET	Required only for Google AdMob ads (free version) and Google Play Billing (premium purchase). Habit tracking works completely offline.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE	Allows AdMob to check network availability before loading ads. No personal data is collected from this.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS	Required on Android 13+ to send habit reminder notifications. StreakBit asks for this permission only when you set your first reminder. You can disable it at any time in system settings.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED	Allows StreakBit to reschedule your habit reminders automatically after your device restarts. Without this, notifications would stop working after a reboot.
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM	Ensures your habit reminders arrive at the exact time you set, rather than being delayed by the system.

5. Habit data & your privacy

We are aware that habit data can be deeply personal — it may reflect your health routines, mental wellness practices, or daily schedule. This is precisely why StreakBit was designed with a strict local-only architecture:

Habit names, completion dates, and streaks are stored in an encrypted database on your device
Android's automatic cloud backup is disabled — your habits do not sync to Google Drive
Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all your data
No SmartWhale employee or system can access your habit data, ever

6. Data security

StreakBit is built to OWASP MASVS Level 1 mobile security standards:

Settings and premium status stored in EncryptedSharedPreferences (AES-256-GCM)
Habit database encrypted with SQLCipher
Android backup disabled — android:allowBackup="false"
Release builds use R8 obfuscation to protect against reverse engineering
All notification receivers marked exported="false" to prevent external triggers

7. Children's privacy

StreakBit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Since StreakBit collects no personal data from any user, there is no risk of inadvertent data collection from minors.

8. Your rights & control

You have complete control over your data because it never leaves your device:

View your data: Everything is visible inside the app at all times
Delete your data: Uninstall StreakBit to permanently and irrecoverably delete all data
Disable notifications: Turn off in the app Settings or in Android system notification settings
Disable personalised ads: Opt out via Android Settings → Google → Ads

9. Changes to this policy

We will update the "Last updated" date when this policy changes. Significant changes will be noted in the app update release notes. Continued use of StreakBit after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
